We’re experienced Salmon fishermen and we love fishing the west coast of Vancouver Island.

A few years ago we started looking around for a boat that we could take to Bamfield, Ucluelet, Tofino, Tahsis, etc. and we couldn’t find what we were looking for. There were lots of professional guides and charter services to choose from, but that isn’t what we were looking for. We’re more that capable of running our own boat and didn’t really want or need to pay for guiding services.

The State of The Vancouver Island Rental Market
In the few cases where rental fishing boats are available are available on Vancouver Island, they are limited to a very small geographic area (not trailerable) and they are typically “low end” boats. We wanted to rent a serious fishing boat, not a 16′ 1983 fiberglass boat with a 50HP 2-stroke and no electronics!

We Are Our Ideal Clients
Salmonboat.ca is the product of our frustration at not being able to rent a decent fishing boat that could handle the west coast of Vancouver Island. That being the case, we really are our ideal clients so we have great insight into what our customers are looking for. As such, the boats are equipped with all the options that we desire in a fishing boat. We think you’ll find that these are serious fishing machines that will help you to catch the big one!

There is nothing tackier than fishing all day in a floating advertisement. Its a bit like driving around in one of those yellow auto body courtesy cars with the number on it. Not cool.

That is why:

We don’t paint our boats fluorescent yellow or plaster our logo all over the side of them.

You won’t see “1-800-RENT-NOW” on the side of our boats.

You won’t see our catchy internet domain name on the transom.

Nobody needs to know that you are renting unless you want them to.

If you want to drive around and pretend that the boat is yours… knock yourself out.

Seriously. Just don’t forget to bring the boat back at the end of the week.
