Getting From Port Alberni to Bamfield
The road from Port Alberni to Bamfield is pretty rough. Too rough for our boats and trailers. However, it is an easy 35 mile run by boat through beautiful, protected waters. Our North River Seahawks have a TON of space and can easily accommodate 4-5 adults and all their fishing gear and luggage. We have had several clients park their vehicles in Port Alberni and then run down to Bamfield with no problems at all.
Please note: We highly recommend doing this trip in the morning as the wind comes up in Alberni Inlet almost every day. You can still come back in the afternoon, but it definitely makes for a bumpier ride!

Great news! I look forward to the day when the road is MUCH better than it has been in the past However, until it is paved I think that we’ll probably still require our renters to run our boats out to Bamfield by water. Its just much easier on the trailers and the boats!
