I just spent a few minutes surfing around the various fishing report web sites and the Sportfishing BC forums. It appears that the Chinook are now arriving in numbers on the Ucluelet side and the Halibut fishing is really picking up. Bamfield has been a bit slower, but Chinook Salmon are starting to move into the traditional surfline spots like Meares, Effingham, Cree, Kirby Point, etc.

Many anglers don’t realize that fishing in June & July can be just as hot & heavy as the fishing in August and September! There aren’t as many big fish around, but I think a 20 pounder Chinook is better than nothing! Just bring some lighter action rods and have some fun. :-)

Remember: The daily and total possession limit for Halibut is now 2!
