The Fish BoxWe just spent three days fishing out of Ucluelet and it was great! Friday, Saturday, and Sunday featured consistent action with *MANY* Chinook salmon coming to the boat. A typical day would see 20-30 hookups per boat, with most fish in the 10-15 pound range, and a few 20+ pound lunkers!

We’re not sure why, but we the general public still seems to think that August is the only month to fish the west coast of Vancouver Island. That couldn’t be further from the truth! June is less expensive, much less crowded, the weather is great, and there are a lot of fish around.

July is looking like a great month to hit the water. Average sizes will continue to climb and we should starting seeing 30+ pounders hitting the dock in the next couple of weeks.

Still think that August is the only time to fish Ucluelet? :-)
